Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training

The QPR Gatekeeper Training For Suicide Prevention is included on the Suicide Prevention Resource Center’s Best Practices Registry and is one of the most well established gatekeeper training programs.   During this training, participants learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide and  how to intervene and help someone who is depressed or suicidal by learning the three steps of QPR (question, persuade, refer).    If you are interested in attending a QPR Gatekeeper Training or would like to schedule this 90 minute training for your student group or class, please contact Dr. Theresa Sharpe at Theresa.sharpe@tamucc.edu or (361) 825-2703.   Please note that we require a minimum of 10 participants for a group training and need at least a two week advance notice to schedule a training.
